Vision and Mission

Since the beginning of decentralized planning, Alakode Grama Panchayat has been able to accelerate its development activities. By focusing on basic infrastructure and development, new achievements have been made in all sectors. During the preparation of the 2026–27 Annual Plan, which is the fifth year of the Fourteenth Five-Year Plan, the Panchayat has continued the efforts of the previous four years to achieve self-sufficiency in agriculture and animal husbandry. In the agricultural sector, progress has been made through projects related to vegetable cultivation, ginger farming, fruit saplings, and organic fertilizers. In the animal husbandry sector, projects such as calf rearing, cattle feed distribution for milch cows, and poultry distribution have helped improve the production of milk, eggs, and meat.

In the housing sector, 20% of the annual plan fund has been utilized every year to ensure social security. Through the “Waste-Free New Kerala” project, MCFs, mini MCFs, public bins, bottle booths, IEC boards, and “Take a Break” facilities have been established in public places. The dedicated efforts of the Haritha Karma Sena members have greatly contributed to making the Panchayat nearly waste-free.

In the production sector, priority has been given to integrated agricultural development projects to strengthen the agricultural sector, ensure women’s welfare and self-reliance, and promote the upliftment of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities. Special attention has also been given to soil and water conservation activities to maintain ecological balance. Efforts have been made to improve healthcare and education sectors, create employment opportunities, and address the growing shortage of drinking water through projects such as well recharging.

In alignment with Kerala Government initiatives such as Haritha Keralam, LIFE Mission, Aardram, Public Education Protection Campaign, Subhiksha Keralam, and Waste-Free New Kerala, the Panchayat gives priority to environmentally friendly and integrated development activities in the agriculture, health, and housing sectors. Various projects focusing on the welfare of farmers and socially vulnerable groups have been prepared, and the Panchayat looks forward to the support and cooperation of all people in successfully implementing these initiatives.
